  • Brief Description: According to the approved current CDBG-MIT Action Plan, Puerto Rico intends to undertake the MULTI-SECTOR COMMUNITY MITIGATION PROGRAM ("MSC-MIT" or "Program"). The Program provides vulnerable communities who experience socioeconomic and environmental disparities the opportunity to implement community scale redesign or relocation projects tailored to mitigating the specific natural hazards and regional environmental risks they face, all while maintaining established communities together, as well as respecting, safeguarding and prioritizing the communities' values and needs. MSC-MIT funding awards are available to eligible entities wishing to collaborate with communities that have expressed the desire to relocate to reduce the risks and mitigate the loss of life and property.
