  • Description: The Leverage for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits Program (LIHTC-MIT or Program) provides funds to qualifying entities that propose projects that incorporate at least one of the mitigation strategies described in the CDBG-MIT Action Plan and prioritize projects in areas with the lowest proportion of rental housing units outside the highest-risk areas. LIHTC offers two (2) forms of tax credits: nine percent (9%) for new construction or substantial rehabilitation projects without federal subsidies, and four percent (4%) for new construction or rehabilitation projects that are partially financed with tax-exempt bond financing.
