{"id":4886,"date":"2018-09-18T12:50:06","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T16:50:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recuperacion.pr.gov\/construimos-boletin-no-1\/"},"modified":"2020-07-23T12:24:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-23T16:24:02","slug":"construimos-newsletter-n-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recuperacion.pr.gov\/en\/construimos-newsletter-n-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Construimos &#8211; Newsletter N. 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4888&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1566529031462{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1537477058825{margin-right: 0px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;padding-right: 15px !important;padding-left: 15px !important;}&#8221; el_class=&#8221;bg-sky-blue&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<strong>CDBG-DR<\/strong> (&#8220;Community development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery&#8221;) is an allocation of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), available when a major disaster is declared and there are significant unmet needs for long-term recovery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/recuperacion.pr.gov\/en\/action-plan\/\">ACTION PLAN<\/a> for the initial allocation of $1.5 million was approved on July 29, 2018.<\/strong><br \/>\n-The Action Plan has dedicates funding in 4 main categories: Housing, Planning, Economic Development and Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Working sessions for these programs have begun with the partners described in the Action Plan: Department of Economic Development and Commerce, Foundation for Puerto Rico, Economic Development Bank, Housing Finance Authority, Planning Board and University of Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On August 14, 2018 the <a href=\"https:\/\/recuperacion.pr.gov\/en\/resources\/federal-register\/\">FEDERAL NOTICE<\/a> for an additional allocation of $8.22 billion was announced by HUD<\/strong><br \/>\n-This notice establishes the conditions governing how this allocation of funds may be utilized. The Puerto Rico Department of Housing (PRDOH) is currently working on a draft substantial amendment of the approved Action Plan to account for the additional allocation, which will be published on our website within 2 weeks.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner el_class=&#8221;bg-sky-blue&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1537478074490{margin-right: 0px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;padding-right: 15px !important;padding-left: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>How can I participate of these funds?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citizens<\/strong>: Watch carefully for information provided by the Department of Housing. When programs begin, be on the lookout for information on eligibility processes and ways to participate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Municipal governments<\/strong>: Get informed on which programs municipal governments may participate in. To receive funding, municipalities must follow the procurement guidelines for each program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Government agencies<\/strong>: May participate under the FEMA match program for permanent
